We used ZymaDerm on our daughter's molluscum last year, with lesions primarily on the face, lips, neck, and shoulders. There were numerous lesions ranging in size from 1mm to 4mm, with dozens of pinpoint lesions on the trunk and extremities. The Molluscum Contagiosum Virus (MCV) is the source of a skin disease that generally causes groups or clusters of a few lesions. The diagnosis of MCV is made by a physician (often a pediatrician in the case of a child, or a dermatologist for adults) based on medical history and the appearance of the lesions. There are no tests specifically needed for the diagnosis of MCV.
Once the diagnosis of molluscum contagiosum virus has been determined, the treatment options are varied. Consideration is given to the child's overall health status, age, and medical history. Hi,
It really does work!!!!!!!!!!! My son had it all over his buttocks and down his legs to his knees AND a few here and there. We tried salicylic acid, Aldara (an expensive prescription), salicylic acid with duck tape on top (sticky) and 2 different "Treaters" = it's a French thing = people prayed over him (that didn't work either).
So, I ordered ZymaDerm. I didn't see results rapidly. I think I was the problem. Twice a day is hard to do with 3 children. Well, I made up my mind to be compliant, wrote down the date that I started (weekends weren't too compliant) and within a few shortweeks they disappeared without scarring. It doesn't hurt!!!!! So, even if it is not evidently working right away, be persistent. You have nothing to lose!!!! With my son, some of his bumps got red, like a mosquito bite. However, it did not hurt and he did not scratch them. I was able to apply ZymaDerm....and it did not burn. With my 4 year old daughter, her warts were on her buttocks and several others here and there. I think her's will be gone within a week from now === IT IS WORKING!!!!!
Tricks: Apply a small amount. Itdoes not burn the skin so you don't have to run and flush it all away. Simply wipe it off with a wet towel. (I don't even worry about it if it "runs" a little off the wart.) With my daughter, I took a pointed foot file and have lightly filed the warts so that ZymaDerm could penetrate the warts better.
